Svaneti Tourism Center

Svaneti tourism center was started in 2006 by ex mountain climber Zaur Chartolani. Goal of non profit organization is to develop tourism in Svaneti. They marked several trekking trails with different difficulty, organized trainings for mountain guides and guesthouse owners. Here is organization's site: www.svanetitrekking.ge

Autumn in Georgia

October in old Georgian language is wine month, so this month, when grape gethering - rtveli is ending most featured is wine tours in region faimous by it's wines - Kakheti. Wine tour can be also arranged in Racha region - homeland of wine Khvanchkara. In both regions can be arranged wine and food unforgeteble tours, where guests will take part in wine making prosses, attend Georgian traditional supra, enjoy hospitality of Georgian farmers.
It is also good time for south Georgia, where guests also will have good chance to attend farmer's everyday work. Here agro tour can be combined with jeep tour and trekking.

Svaneti is also very beautiful in this season, mountains covered by red, yellow and pine forests, peaks are newly covered by snow. Here trekking can be combined with jeep tour and horse riding.
Of course Lagodekhi, Borjomi-Kharagauli and Vashlovani national parks are very beautiful in autumn. Trekking or horse riding there can be combined with wine tours.
People who have no time for long trips, can enjoy 1-2 day tours in Kakheti, Khevi, Lower and inner Kartli.

Abastumani tourism association

The Abastumani Tourism Association is a non-profit entity, whose members are legal and physical persons engaged in different spheres of tourism industry in Abastumani and surrounding area. Under its mission to make Abastumani one of Georgia’s attractive four-season tourism destinations, the association strives to become an umbrella for all the tourism-related organizations operating in Samtskhe-Javakheti region.
Goals of the Association:
  • To enable visitors to take full advantage of the natural and cultural heritage of the area;
  • To set up local tourism information centre;
  • To support and organize the activities to preserve the tourist area, improve the tourist surroundings and protect the environment in the resort area;
  • To train locals engaged in tourism industry to help market their services.
